AFL application code - AFL use a three tier architectural: a presentation cleint supplies all the user interface and validation routines, business logic is provided by an application server which processes all business transactions, the database server handles all data services. This provides for unlimited scalability.
These three segments are implemented as follows: Presentation: Visual
Basic .net and C++ code C++ Database Server: SQL Server 2000 Reporting: Seagate Crystal Report 8.5 or customer report writer. WAN infrastructure: 512k lines are sufficient for the application: however performance will depend on other network traffic and the functions to be performed at remote locations. Customers may utilize Citrix were appropriate. Hardware configuration – hardware is rarely an issue, with a modest budget most hardware performance constraints can be overcome.
Platform Recommended and Minimum Configuration The following is a guide only. The CPU, RAM and Disk figures for Application Servers and the Database Server are dependent on the number of concurrent users and the volume of data entry and do not take into account any other applications running on the same server.
Frameworks runs on Microsoft SQL Server 2000; the Standard Edition is sufficient. Data access is via ODBC and OLEDB.
